Standard Group PLC has announced the death of its employee, Brian Masese Manyara, who passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2026, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital.
In an announcement on August 6, Standard Group said Manyara served as a Studio Technical Operator in its Technical Department and had been part of the organization for 11 years, having joined the company in November 2015.
The company described him as a dedicated employee whose professionalism, kindness and commitment left a lasting impact on colleagues.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear colleague, Brian Masese Manyara, who passed away today, 6th August 2026, while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital,” read part of the notice.
“Brian served as a Studio Technical Operator in our Technical Department and was a dedicated member of The Standard Group family for eleven (11) years, having joined us in November 2015.”
Standard Group extended its condolences to Manyara’s family, friends and colleagues during the period of mourning.
Media Personalities Pay Tribute to Brian Masese
Tributes have continued to pour in following the death of Brian Masese, with colleagues, friends and media personalities remembering him as a kind, dedicated and professional individual.
Sports commentator Stephen Mukangai was among those who paid tribute, expressing shock and sadness over Manyara’s passing.
“What is life, really? One moment you are here with us, laughing, living… and the next moment, you are gone. Just like that. Life feels so fragile, so unfair,” Mukangai wrote.
Describing the loss as difficult to comprehend, he said Manyara’s absence had left a deep void.
His colleague Nixon Atandi also mourned Manyara, describing him as a valued colleague, friend and brother whose kindness, dedication and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who worked with him.
He said Manyara’s warmth, generosity and positive influence extended beyond the workplace, adding that his passing had left a deep void among colleagues.
Atandi noted that although Manyara was gone, his memory and the impact he made would continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
Former colleague Kefa Nengo Bosire also joined in mourning Manyara, remembering him as a friend and colleague.
Career Background
Manyara joined Standard Group in November 2015 as a Studio Technical Operator, supporting live and recorded broadcasts across KTN News, KTN Home, BTV and KTN Farmers.
In the role, he coordinated technical operations for news bulletins, current affairs programmes, and special events.
From 2022, Manyara also served as a TV Presentation Editor, overseeing television presentation and broadcast operations to ensure the seamless delivery of live and recorded programmes.
Manyara held a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from St. Paul’s University, obtained between 2014 and 2017.
He also earned a Diploma in TV Production from Multimedia University between 2010 and 2012, graduating with an A grade.
