President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, has celebrated her upcoming white wedding to her Tanzanian fiancé, Isaya Yunge, with an elaborate bridal shower attended by close friends and family.
Charlene offered a glimpse into the private celebration through photographs shared on Tuesday, November 3, capturing the decorations, outfits and memorable moments from the gathering.
The event was themed around white and purple, with the president’s daughter dressed in an elegant white gown as her guests embraced pink outfits. Among those who attended was her sister, Stephanie, who joined other women in celebrating the occasion.
Guests were welcomed by a banner bearing the inscription “Welcome to Charlene Bridal Shower”, setting the tone for the celebration.
The venue featured carefully arranged seating, complemented by decorative lighting that illuminated the space as the festivities extended into the evening.
A specially decorated cake was another highlight of the occasion. It carried messages including “Miss Babe to Mrs Babe” and “Hey Mrs Yunge”, symbolising Charlene’s anticipated transition into marriage and her new family identity.
Beyond the elaborate decorations, Charlene used the occasion to acknowledge the women who have walked alongside her through different stages of her life.
In a heartfelt message accompanying the photographs, she expressed appreciation for their friendship, love and support as she prepares to begin married life.
“Grateful that the amazing women I have done life with over the years chose to celebrate me in my new season,” she wrote.
She also reflected on the importance of faith as she prepares for the next chapter, describing Christ as the foundation upon which she intends to build her marriage.
“Christ as our solid foundation and rock, the Word to guide my next step, the laughter and joy of sisterhood and knowing I have their love and support as I start to do life with the one He kept for me,” she added.
Charlene concluded her message by thanking the women she affectionately referred to as her “dadas” and girls for making the occasion special.
The celebration comes nearly three months after Charlene and Yunge held their traditional Koito ceremony on August 8, 2026, at Intonna Heritage Farm in Kilgoris, Narok County.
The traditional engagement brought together relatives, friends and prominent guests, including political dignitaries from Kenya and Tanzania.
Koito is a traditional Kalenjin ceremony through which a man formally approaches his prospective bride’s family to establish a marriage arrangement.
It also provides an opportunity for the two families to discuss bridewealth and other customary obligations.
