The former Wajackoyah running mate has launched Imarisha Uchumi Party, pledging economic reforms, housing levy refunds and greater transparency in elections.

Former 2022 presidential running mate Justina Wamae has thrown her hat into the 2027 presidential race, declaring her intention to challenge for the country's top seat and launching a new political party, Imarisha Uchumi Party (IUP), to spearhead her campaign.

Wamae made the announcement on Sunday, October 25, during the party's launch in Nairobi, where she unveiled “Inatuhusu” as its slogan and pledged to field candidates in all elective positions.

“Today I declare my intention to seek the presidency of the Republic of Kenya, under the banner of Imarisha Uchumi Party,” she said.
