Women and children are among thousands fleeing violence in Ethiopia, with the influx of displaced civilians putting pressure on food supplies, shelter and other resources in Kenya's Moyale area.

More than 14,000 people have been displaced by ethnic clashes between Oromo and Somali communities in neighbouring Ethiopia, with thousands fleeing their homes and seeking refuge in Kenya's Moyale area as insecurity spreads along the border.

The clashes have triggered an influx of civilians into Kenya, placing pressure on local infrastructure and resources, particularly as women and children arrive in search of food, shelter and other humanitarian assistance.

The scale of the displacement has raised concerns among leaders in Marsabit County, who have appealed to the Kenyan government and the international community to intervene and support affected communities.
