According to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Plimo, Kodich Ward Member of County Assembly Paul Lokitari Ywapamoi, and Francis Atodosia were absent when the matter came up in court, prompting the court to issue summons requiring them to appear on the scheduled date.

The court warned that it could issue warrants of arrest against the three if they fail to comply with the summons.

The nine accused persons are alleged to have conspired to defraud the Sacco of Ksh. 260,008,100 between 2018 and 2025 by manipulating transaction systems, creating fraudulent accounts and fictitious loans, and authorising transfers of funds from Sacco accounts to personal bank accounts.

The six other accused persons, identified as Linus Lokira, Leonard Pchakas an Domoita, Nicholas Toroitich Arusho, Andrew Poriot Lorema, Susan Chesang, and Florence Chemotwo, appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The accused include former senior Sacco officials, among them chief executive officers, finance officers, and information and communications technology officers.

They face various charges, including conspiracy to defraud, stealing by servant, cheating, unauthorised interference with a computer system, and abuse of office.

The court directed that a ruling on bond terms for the six accused persons be delivered on November 2, 2026. They were remanded pending the ruling.

The prosecution was led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Patrick Okango, assisted by Faith Koech, Jairus Onkoba, Stephene Mokaya, Gregory Suter, Victor Mamati, and Clinton Kere.

Plimo, Ywapamoi, and Atodosia are expected to appear in court on November 5 for plea-taking.

The charges relate to alleged offences committed over a seven-year period, with the prosecution seeking to hold those implicated accountable for the reported loss of the Sacco's funds.
