A recent Twitter thread sparked an important conversation when women shared the moment they realised “this is not my husband.” These 30 real experiences serve as crucial warning signs every woman should recognise.

Physical Violence & Disrespect

He said he doesn’t believe in mental health, “just pray.” @tallfinesseh

The Silver Lining

When he would do stuff I would think to myself “My husband wouldn’t do that.” It changed my perspective so much. @thadirtybastard

This perfectly captures the mindset that saved these women; they knew their worth.

Reading these stories, I couldn’t help but think about my own dating experiences. How many times have we dismissed red flags as “quirks” or convinced ourselves that love could change someone?

The truth is, we’ve all been there. We’ve ignored our gut because he was charming, or because we didn’t want to seem “difficult,” or because we were afraid of being alone.

But here’s what these brave women taught us: being alone is infinitely better than being with someone who makes you small.

For Every Woman Reading This

If you’re dating someone who exhibits any of these behaviours, this isn’t about you not being “enough.” You are not responsible for fixing anyone. You don’t have to settle for someone who treats you as less than the amazing woman you are.

Sometimes the greatest act of self-love is walking away from what isn’t serving you. These women did it, and so can you.

You deserve a love that feels like home, not a battleground.
