Kenya's squad will compete in a mix of team and individual sports, including 3x3 basketball, rugby sevens, beach handball and Baseball5, alongside athletics, boxing, judo, road cycling, beach wrestling, swimming, fencing, triathlon and Wushu Taolu.

Kenya has selected 56 athletes to compete in 13 sports at the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13, as the country prepares for the first edition of the competition to be held on African soil.

The National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) has named athletes for the Games, which will bring together about 2,700 competitors from more than 200 national delegations. A total of 25 sports will feature at the event, which returns after an eight-year break following the 2018 edition in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Rugby sevens has the largest contingent among the team sports, with 13 athletes, followed by beach handball with 10 and Baseball5 with eight. Similarly, basketball 3x3 has six athletes, reflecting Kenya's participation beyond its traditional strength in athletics.

The athletics team includes Abigael Kosgei, Abigael Chepkirui, Faith Cherotich Rono, Cecilia Wainaina, Wesley Kiplangat, David Sekento and Enock Tuitoek. Kenya has historically relied on the discipline for its Youth Olympic success, with all 15 of its medals from previous Summer editions coming from athletics.

Kenya has won eight gold, three silver and four bronze medals at previous Summer Youth Olympic Games, and will be looking to build on that record while giving its young athletes experience in other sports.
