The Mombasa United owner says he has shouldered the club’s financial burden for three years, denies receiving county funding and insists the team will remain free from political interference.

Mombasa United president and owner Abdirahman Hussein, popularly known as Anza Fresh, has clarified the club’s ownership and financial structure after businessman-cum-politician Suleiman Shahbal publicly discussed his financial support for the team.

Abdirahman sought to clear the air over the club’s leadership and financial backing, insisting he is both its president and owner and has personally shouldered much of its financial burden.

“I am not only the president of the team, but I am also the owner of the club,” Abdirahman stated.
