Murang’a Seal scored five goals to record a commanding victory over Posta Rangers, while Maurice Ojwang’s late equaliser earned Kakamega Homeboyz a point against Ulinzi Stars as Shabana FC were held by Nairobi United.

Murang’a Seal delivered a stunning attacking performance to thrash Posta Rangers 5-1 at SportPesa Arena on Sunday, October 18, securing the biggest win of the young FKF Premier League season.

Majaliwa Charo and Josphat Lopaga scored braces, while Michael Macharia also found the net as Murang’a made an emphatic statement in their first home match of the 2026/27 campaign.

The hosts took control in the 28th minute when Charo opened the scoring before doubling their lead in the 44th minute.

Posta Rangers struggled to contain Murang’a’s attack, and their situation worsened in stoppage time when Lopaga struck to send the hosts into the break with a commanding 3-0 lead.

Murang’a maintained their dominance after the restart, with Macharia extending the advantage in the 82nd minute. Lopaga then completed his brace a minute later, making it 5-0 and capping a devastating spell for the hosts.

Posta Rangers managed a consolation goal to reduce the deficit to 5-1, but it was too little to change the outcome as Murang’a sealed all three points in style.

The emphatic victory was a timely response for Murang’a, who had begun their campaign with a 4-2 defeat to defending champions Gor Mahia. Posta Rangers, meanwhile, suffered a second consecutive setback after opening their season with a 1-0 loss to Shabana FC.

Homeboyz rescue point against Ulinzi Stars

At Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz fought back to secure a 1-1 draw against Ulinzi Stars, with Maurice Ojwang scoring a late equaliser.

Ulinzi took the lead in the 28th minute when Jacob Onyango finished confidently after Boniface Muchiri picked him out with a pass through the Homeboyz defence. Onyango beat his marker before chipping the ball over goalkeeper Brian Opondo.

Homeboyz stepped up their search for an equaliser after the break, introducing Rodgers Ouma as they pushed for a breakthrough.

Their persistence paid off in the 85th minute when Ojwang rose above the defence to head home Ouma’s delivery and restore parity.

The hosts pressed for a late winner, but Ulinzi held firm to take a point from the encounter.

Homeboyz had opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Mombasa United, while Ulinzi were looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to Tusker FC.

Shabana held by Nairobi United

At Afraha Stadium in Nakuru, Shabana FC missed the opportunity to make it two wins from two matches after being held to a goalless draw by Nairobi United.

Shabana had started the season with a 1-0 win over Posta Rangers, while Nairobi United were still searching for their first victory after drawing 2-2 with KCB in the opening round.

The stalemate leaves both teams with more work to do as the league campaign gathers pace. Murang’a Seal, meanwhile, will look to build on their five-goal performance as they seek to maintain their momentum in the early stages of the season.
