Timothy Ouma has emerged as one of Kenya’s most promising football exports, rising from Nairobi City Stars to become a regular in European football and the Harambee Stars midfield.

Early Life and Education
Timothy Noor Ouma was born on June 10, 2004, in Nairobi, Kenya.
He developed an interest in football at a young age and began his football journey at the Riruta Youth Sports Academy (RYSA), one of Nairobi’s leading youth development centers.
There, he received his early football training and laid the foundation for his future career.
After completing his primary education, Ouma joined Laiser Hill Academy, a school renowned for its strong sporting tradition.
While at Laiser Hill, he continued to sharpen his football skills and emerged as one of the country’s most promising young talents.
His performances in school and youth competitions attracted the attention of scouts and coaches.
In 2020, while still a student, Ouma’s talent was recognized when he was named the Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Rift Valley Most Valuable Player (MVP), a breakthrough achievement that increased his profile in Kenyan football circles.

Ouma began his professional career in July 2020 when he signed for Nairobi City Stars after completing his studies at Laiser Hill Academy.
He made his Kenyan Premier League debut on November 29, 2020, against Nzoia Sugar and soon established himself as one of the club’s most promising young players.
His breakthrough came during the 2021–22 season when he scored seven league goals despite playing as a midfielder.
He found the net against Sofapaka, Kenya Police, Wazito, Kakamega Homeboyz, Bandari, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, attracting attention from clubs outside Kenya.
During his time at Nairobi City Stars, he made 56 appearances and scored seven goals.
In 2022, Ouma secured a move to Swedish top-flight side IF Elfsborg.
He made his Allsvenskan debut on October 31, 2022, against Helsingborgs IF and gradually worked his way into the first team.
By the 2024 season, he had become a regular starter, making 23 league appearances and contributing 1 goal and 2 assists.
Ouma also gained valuable European experience with Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League. During the 2024–25 campaign, he made 13 appearances in the qualifiers and league phase.
On September 25, 2024, he scored a goal and provided an assist against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, becoming the first Kenyan player to achieve both feats in the same Europa League match.
He also played the full 90 minutes when Elfsborg recorded a notable 1-0 victory over AS Roma.
His performances in Sweden earned him a transfer to Czech champions Slavia Prague in February 2025 on a long-term contract running until 2029.
The reported transfer fee was around €2 million (Ksh295,480,000), with additional performance-related bonuses the could increase the deal’s value.
After joining Slavia Prague, Ouma made appearances for both the senior team and the reserve side as he adapted to Czech football.
To gain more playing time, he joined Polish giants Lech Poznań on a one-year loan in July 2025.
