Sakaja officially joins ODM ahead of 2027 re-election bid

Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has officially joined the ODM party, which he will use to seek re-election next year. Sakaja was officially received at the ODM headquarters in Nairobi by senior party leaders, including Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati, Chairperson Gladys Wanga and Cabinet Secretary Ali Hassan Joho. Sakaja said the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga personally encouraged him to join ODM, while pledging to continue supporting President William Ruto from within the party.
