Kalonzo faults Ruto over Lamu refinery launch, dismisses Kenya Kwanza defection claims

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called out the government for ignoring what he says are legitimate concerns by a section of Lamu residents opposed to the construction of the Dangote Refinery. Despite not being opposed to its setting up, Kalonzo accused President William Ruto of bypassing the due process to ensure its launch. The Wiper leader has at the same time disputed claims that he is likely to ditch the opposition for Kenya Kwanza ahead of the 2027 presidential contest if he is not named the United Opposition’s flag bearer.
