Herders driving livestock into Laikipia instructed to seek authorization
Description (show more)
Herders from other counties driving livestock into Laikipia in search of pasture will now have to produce letters from their chiefs indicating their destination and the person hosting them. Assistant County Commissioner for Ol Moran Division in Kirima Sub-County, Onesmus Kamau, says the measure is aimed at preventing conflicts with local communities, particularly cases where livestock are driven into private farms without the consent of landowners.
