The government is committed to addressing the water shortage in the South Rift region. Speaking after inspecting the ongoing mega water project in Bomet County, Water Principal Secretary Dr Julius Korir said the Bomet Water Supply and Sanitation Project has reached 82 percent completion, with contractors racing against time to complete the remaining major works by the end of November. The 2 billion-shilling project, which commenced in January 2022, is entering a critical phase, with 15 kilometres of the planned 44-kilometre steel transmission pipeline already laid.
