8 children rescued from preacher Paul Mackenzie's residence in Malindi

Homicide detectives have rescued eight children who were allegedly being kept out of school at a residence linked to embattled preacher Paul Mackenzie in Malindi, Kilifi County. The children, aged between one and fourteen, were found at the home of Mackenzie’s mother, where investigators are also probing claims that some had been subjected to fasting. Investigators said five of the children were believed to be Pastor Mackenzie’s, while the other three were reportedly children of close relatives. The authorities also said the children had allegedly been kept out of school, while claims that they were subjected to fasting were still being verified.
