There is a road in Kenya that many travelers barely talk about — the Nakuru–Eldoret road through the spectacular landscapes of the Rift Valley and Elgeyo Marakwet. I took the drive to see what lies beyond the better-known highways, and what I found was breathtaking: winding roads carved into the hillsides, lush forests, dramatic escarpments, beautiful valleys and some of the most spectacular scenery in this part of Kenya.
