Kindiki challenges Gachagua to account for Mt Kenya development record
Description (show more)
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has challenged his predecessor, Rigathi Gachagua, to account for his development record in the Mt Kenya region instead of relying on political slogans. Speaking in Meru after inspecting construction progress at the Nyambene Level Five Hospital and Maua Modern Market, Kindiki also criticised opposition leaders for what he described as a lack of a clear agenda for the country. He called on opposition leaders from the larger Mt Kenya East region to consider working with the government, saying a truce would benefit the region. Kindiki urged political leaders to focus on development rather than insults, noise and ethnic politics, challenging them to explain what they achieved for their communities while in office.
