Uhuru faces fresh attacks as allies rally behind Ruto ahead of 2027

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has come under fresh attacks from a section of broad-based government leaders, who accuse him of plotting to destabilise the Kenya Kwanza administration. Speaking at an education event in Siaya County, Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi revisited the high-stakes political meetings of 2022, alleging that Kenyatta was opposed to ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid. Meanwhile, Deputy President Professor Kithure Kindiki and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula led separate political rallies in support of President William Ruto, highlighting his administration’s record ahead of the 2027 elections.
