Safaricom launches Fuliza Ya Pochi overdraft service for small businesses

Safaricom has introduced a new overdraft service that will allow small business owners to complete transactions even when they do not have enough money in their Pochi La Biashara accounts. Known as Fuliza Ya Pochi, the service works much like the regular Fuliza, allowing traders to borrow money to pay suppliers, buy stock and settle bills. The borrowed money will be repaid automatically from payments received into their Pochi accounts. Safaricom says the service is designed to help small businesses manage temporary cash shortages, with borrowing limits determined by how frequently and actively traders use Pochi La Biashara.
