Former Nairobi PC Chelogoi jailed for three years in Sh1.3 billion land fraud
Description (show more)
Former Nairobi Provincial Commissioner Davis Nathan Chelogoi has been sentenced to three years in prison after being found guilty in a Sh1.3 billion land fraud case. Chelogoi was found guilty on five out of six counts in a case involving a 7.39-hectare parcel of land in Lower Kabete, Nairobi. Chief Magistrate Dolphina Alego directed that the sentences run concurrently, meaning Chelogoi will serve a three-year custodial sentence. The court found the former Moi-era administrator guilty of involvement in the fraudulent acquisition and disposal of the parcel. Chelogoi, aged 76, had requested a non-custodial sentence, citing his age.
