Responsibility/ Terms of Reference
- Lead HR and Administration, ensuring strong policies, workforce planning, and organizational development; advise senior leadership on strategic HR direction.
- Ensure organizational decisions align with legal and institutional frameworks.
- Manage recruitment and onboarding of qualified staff in a timely and compliant manner.
- Oversee performance management systems and identify high-potential staff forsuccession planning.
- Coordinate staff training and capacity-building programs and promote a positive work environment.
- Oversee general administrative functions including office management, logistics, travel, and asset management.
- Manage procurement following established guidelines to ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
- Generate timely HR reports for management and donors.
- Ensure payroll inputs are accurate, timely, and compliant with organizational policies.
Level of Education & Qualifications
The minimum required academic and professional skills for the jobholder to perform successfully in their job are:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR and Administration experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in NGOs or development sector.
- Strong people management skills and thorough understanding of Kenyan labor laws.
- Maintains privacy and confidentiality in all HR matters and organizational records.
- Strong decision-making, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
