NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 1 — Java House has opened its first branch in Buruburu, expanding its network to 114 outlets across East Africa.
The new outlet is located at the TotalEnergies station at the junction of Jogoo Road and Rabai Road and will serve customers from Buruburu, Donholm, Komarock and surrounding areas.
Java House Group CEO Priscilla Gathungu said the branch was opened in response to the growth of Buruburu and demand for dining and coffee services closer to residential areas.
“This branch is our response to the growth seen in and around Buruburu, and to a community that increasingly expects the same standard of service it would find in the city centre,” Gathungu said.
She said the location along Jogoo Road would also serve commuters travelling between Eastlands and other parts of Nairobi.
The branch features artwork depicting landmarks and aspects of Buruburu, including the Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts, the area’s matatus, Makadara Railway Station and Mutindwa Market.
“We are glad to be part of the community’s rich history that has contributed to Kenya’s art and cultural scenes through foundational institutions such as the Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts (BIFA), and the iconic number 58 matatus,” Gathungu said.
Java House, which was founded in 1999, operates outlets across Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
The company also operates Planet Yoghurt, 360 Degrees Pizza and Kukito brands.
