NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 18 – NCBA Group has added private motor insurance to the LOOP app, allowing customers to compare quotes, buy and renew policies and access policy documents on the platform.

The service was developed by NCBA subsidiaries LOOP DFS and NCBA Insurance and allows eligible customers with valid motor vehicle logbooks to complete the insurance process digitally.

Customers can choose from three products: Third Party Cover, Standard Comprehensive Cover and Premier Comprehensive Cover.

Third Party Cover provides protection against third-party injury or property damage, while Standard Comprehensive Cover includes third-party protection as well as cover for the insured vehicle against accidents, theft and fire.

Premier Comprehensive Cover includes the standard comprehensive benefits together with additional services.

NCBA Insurance Managing Director and CEO Stella Njung’e said the service is intended to reduce the number of steps involved in purchasing motor insurance.

“By enabling customers to complete the entire private motor insurance journey within the LOOP App, we are simplifying a process that has traditionally required multiple touchpoints and significant paperwork,” Njung’e said.

The insurer said the service could help improve access to insurance in Kenya, where insurance penetration stands at about 2.4 percent.
