In an expansion milestone, NCBA has officially opened its 100th Kenyan branch at Knord Mall in Ruiru, strengthening its presence in one of the country’s fastest-growing economic hubs. The launch marks the bank’s eighth outlet in Kiambu County, coming on the heels of its Tatu City branch opening last year.
Ruiru’s rapid transformation into a bustling commercial center created a sharp demand for accessible, tailored financial services. NCBA’s new footprint aims to directly serve local entrepreneurs, homeowners, transport operators, and retail clients.
“Reaching the 100-branch milestone reflects the bank’s commitment to bringing our services close to our customers while responding to opportunities presented by Kenya’s growing economy,” said NCBA Kenya Managing Director James Gossip during the launch. “Ruiru is one of Kenya’s high-potential markets… As we expand our physical presence, we remain focused on understanding the needs of our customers and providing solutions that enable individuals and businesses to grow.”
The move aligns with NCBA’s overarching, Ubuntu-inspired strategy—Banking on Belief: Empowering Ambitions, which prioritizes economic empowerment through localized financial access.
Services offered at the Ruiru Branch
- Retail & SME Solutions: Current/savings accounts, personal loans, business credit, and NCBA Tills
- Specialized Financing: Affordable housing loans and asset financing
- Digital & Wealth Integration: Investment solutions alongside full digital banking access
- Phygital Strategy: Digital Power Meets Physical Presence
While expanding its brick-and-mortar footprint, NCBA continues to advance a hybrid “phygital” banking model. The bank aims to balance wide physical branch coverage with scalable digital channels, letting over 60 million regional customers choose how they transact.
