The shutdown will affect several Nairobi estates, hospitals, businesses and public institutions as engineers carry out emergency repairs on the NCT–Kigoro–Gigiri–Kabete pipeline.
Thousands of Nairobi households, businesses and public institutions face three days without water as engineers undertake emergency repairs on a major supply pipeline, prompting residents to stock up ahead of the shutdown.
The interruption is scheduled to begin at 11.59 pm on Monday, October 26, and continue until 11.59 pm on Thursday, October 29, affecting large parts of the capital, including residential estates, hospitals, government institutions and commercial areas.
Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company announced that the NCT–Kigoro–Gigiri–Kabete pipeline would be shut down for 72 hours to allow the Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) to carry out the emergency repairs.
