Police in Makindu, Makueni County, are investigating the discovery of an amputated human leg at Kwa Musimba Garage within Makindu town.

The body part was reported by members of the public on Tuesday, October 6.

Police visited the scene and found the amputated leg of an unidentified person wrapped in a bandage.

Investigators suspect the body part could have originated from a hospital in the area following a surgical procedure.

The scene was processed and photographed by investigators before the body part was removed and taken to Makindu Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

Police have launched investigations to establish how the amputated limb ended up at the garage and identify the person from whom it originated.

Elsewhere, police in Baringo County are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was found near a bridge in Chebao Village, Seguton Sub-location, Baringo Central.

The body was discovered at around 9am on Tuesday, October 6.

A multi-agency team comprising officers from Kabarnet Police Station, scene-of-crime personnel and DCI officers from Baringo Central visited the scene.

The team found the body of an unidentified African male adult, estimated to be about 40 years old, lying on his back near the bridge, with his right leg locked against a stone.

Police said the man had slight bruises on both hands around the elbow area.

Scene-of-crime personnel processed the area before the body was moved to Baringo County Referral Hospital mortuary.

The deceased is yet to be identified, with police awaiting identification and a postmortem examination to establish the cause and circumstances of his death.

And a 32-year-old man was stabbed to death by his nephew at their home in Nchooro Village, Mitundu Sub-location, Tigania West, Meru County.

Police said the incident was reported on Tuesday, October 6.

The deceased, identified as Nicholas Muthamia, was allegedly attacked by his nephew, Keith Mwenda, although the motive for the incident had not been established.

Officers from Tigania Police Station and detectives from the DCI Tigania West visited the scene and established that Muthamia had sustained multiple stab wounds.

The injuries were reported on his chest, stomach and right arm below the shoulder.

Police documented the scene before the body was removed to Miathene Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending further investigations and postmortem examination.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and the relationship between the two men are being investigated.
