Police have launched investigations into a suspected murder following the discovery of an unidentified man's body in Upland Forest, Lari, Kiambu County, with multiple injuries and his mouth and nose covered with blue masking tape.

The body was discovered on October 26, 2026, after herders reportedly spotted it inside the forest and alerted authorities.

Officers who responded to the scene found the body bearing several visible injuries to the hands, head and back.

The man's head was also wrapped in blue masking tape, which covered his mouth and nose.

Preliminary police assessments suggested that the man may have been killed elsewhere before his body was reportedly dumped in the forest.

Scenes of Crime officers processed the scene before the body was moved to City Mortuary, where it was preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination.

Police appealed to families and friends of missing persons to visit the mortuary to assist with the ongoing investigations.

In a separate incident, police in Imenti Central, Meru County, launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 30-year-old man who was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood outside his home in Rwand eri Sub-location.

The man, identified as Morris Kiambu, was discovered on October 26, 2026, along a tarmac road outside Gakungugu Coffee Factory in Kirigara Location.

An examination of the body reportedly revealed deep stab wounds to the back and around the right knee, believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.

According to preliminary inquiries, Kiambu's sister was at home at around 6 pm when she reportedly heard screams coming from the road.

She is said to have rushed outside to establish what was happening, only to find her brother bleeding profusely following a suspected attack by an unidentified person who reportedly fled the scene.

Police said the motive behind the suspected killing remained unclear, with no suspect identified at the time of reporting.

Officers documented and photographed the scene before moving the body to Kanyakine Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Authorities said on Thursday that investigations into the incident were ongoing, adding that no arrests had been made.
