Authorities are also arranging a safe burial in consultation with the family, following public health procedures intended to prevent further infections while respecting the family's wishes and beliefs.

Kenya has recorded its second death from Ebola after a 65-year-old woman, the country's third confirmed case. The woman died while receiving treatment, bringing the Ebola death toll to two.

The woman was a close family member and direct contact of the first patient to die from the virus on October 5. She had been placed under quarantine and developed symptoms on October 13, when she was admitted to an infectious disease unit for treatment, the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

Her death leaves seven confirmed patients receiving care in two isolation facilities as health authorities continue to monitor the outbreak.
