Kiambu County has several SHA-approved hospitals and healthcare facilities that provide medical care to residents and the public at large.

According to the Kiambu County government, residents can access free outpatient services in all the Kiambu County health facilities under the SHA if they are registered.

In a previous public engagement, Kimani Wamatangi, the Governor of Kiambu, stated that the registration of SHA in the county had reached 1.6 million.

“For the record, in Kiambu County at the moment, the SHA registration is at 1.6 million and still ongoing,” Kimani Wamatangi noted.

SHA-approved Level 5 hospitals offering surgical and specialized inpatient management include Saint Bridget Hospital Ltd, St. Peter’s Orthopedics and Surgical Specialty Center Limited, and Thika Nursing Home.

At the Level four, SHA has approved medical facilities including Avenue Hospital Thika, Life care Hospital Limited, Kikuyu, Ruiru Nursing Hospital Limited, and Limuru Nursing Home.

Further, the health insurance coverage system has approved faith-based health facilities, such as the Neema Hospital, to offer services under the SHA insurance.

Special Treatment and Diagnostic Facilities in Kiambu

The Gyno Solutions Center Limited, under the SHA cover, is approved to offer specialized reproductive health services to the residents. At the same time, the Machakos Imaging Center Limited in Thika offers advanced diagnostic services under the Level 4B centers.

Further, the Juja Road Maternity Hospital Limited, located in Ruiru, a level 4B center under the SHA, offers focused maternal care to patients.

Under the SHA framework, Dove Mental Health Hospital, Tigoni Treatment and  Rehab Center Ltd, and Turning Point Rehab offer specialized mental health treatment and recovery services.

Level 3A Health Facilities

In Kiambu Equity Afia facilities are SHA-approved, with branches at Kiambu, Thika, Juja, Ruiru, Kikuyu, Banana, Wangige, Limuru, Eastern By-Pass, Kimbo, Makongeni, Kahawa Sukari, Rosslyn Ruaka, Githunguri, and Kinoo.

AAR Health Care, a level 3A facility, is also SHA-approved, along with all its branches in Ruaka, Thika, and Utawala.

Aga Khan University Hospital Clinics in Kikuyu, Juja, Ridgeways, Ruaka, Thika, Mountain View, and Ruiru are also SHA-approved facilities under this level.

Other SHA-approved level 3A facilities include Kiambu Medical Center, JKUAT Hospital, Meridian Medical Center Thika, Nairobi Hospital, Kiambu, and  Karen Hospital Ltd, Thika.

Level 2 SHA Approved Medical Clinics and Dispensaries

Kiambu County has over 100 licensed and SHA-approved facilities, including Kimlea Medical Clinic, Smartcare Dental, Delmonte Clinics in Chui, Gatuanyaga, and Ndula, Nazarene Medical Services, and Kihara Outpatient Center.
