Sudi said those looking down on Bii because of his humble background should prepare for a surprise, as residents of the region would re-elect the governor

Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi has vowed to ensure Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii is re-elected to give him time to complete the projects he has initiated.
The outspoken MP said he supported Senator Jackson Mandago when he served as governor for two terms and would do the same for Bii.
“I will stand with Bii because I know that no governor can do much in one term. Bii has done a lot, but he needs more time to complete his work,” said Sudi, who was speaking in the Moiben constituency.
Sudi is one of the influential MPs in the Rift Valley, with vast financial resources that he could use to influence politics in the region.
His remarks came as Bii’s two main rivals intensified their campaigns, promising to step up their efforts to unseat him.
The main contest for the top county seat in the UDA-dominated region is expected to take place during the party primaries, which are less than six months away.
Bii is expected to face off against Tourism PS Julius Bitok and businessman Bundotich Kiprop, commonly known as Buzeki.
Buzeki has kept away from the region, saying he is giving Bii’s team time to complete its work. However, he has confirmed that he will be in the race.
Bitok is still serving in government but is expected to resign soon and launch his campaign. He is believed to be Bii’s most formidable opponent, with wide support across the region.
Bii has also come out strongly against his rivals, telling them not to waste their money campaigning to unseat him in the next general election.
The governor insisted that denying him a second term would be impossible.
Bii said his performance record would easily convince residents to re-elect him.
He warned those eyeing his seat against wasting their resources on what he described as a futile mission.
“They should use their money wisely instead of engaging in an impossible mission to campaign against me. As of now, this county is locked until I complete my two terms in office,” Bii said.
The race is expected to become even tighter during the party primaries, as whoever wins will effectively be considered elected ahead of the general election.
