The bankers have collected four points from their opening two matches and will be seeking a second consecutive victory against a Posta side still searching for its first point of the 2026/27 campaign.

KCB FC can move to the top of the FKF Premier League standings when they host struggling Posta Rangers at Police Sacco Stadium on Friday, with kick-off at 4:00 pm.

The bankers have collected four points from their opening two matches and will be seeking a second consecutive victory against a Posta side still searching for its first point of the 2026/27 campaign.

Robert Matano’s charges began the season with a 2-2 draw against Nairobi United before edging Mathare United 1-0 at the same venue. Their victory over Mathare came through a late goal from new signing Mambote Batshi Assis, underlining their ability to find a breakthrough when it matters.

Another three points would take KCB to seven, allowing them to move above defending champions Gor Mahia and Mara Sugar, who are also among the early pace-setters. The bankers would, however, occupy the summit temporarily, with the two sides scheduled to feature on Saturday.

Posta Rangers arrive in Nairobi desperate to arrest a worrying start under head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno, having lost both their opening matches.

The Mailmen opened their campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Shabana FC at Wang’uru Stadium. Their afternoon was made more difficult by the dismissal of captain Bernard Ondiek, as Shabana eventually capitalised on a set-piece to claim maximum points.

Their struggles continued in their second outing, when they suffered a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Murang’a Seal at SportPesa Arena. Majaliwa Charo and Josphat Lopaga each scored twice, while Michael Macharia added another as Murang’a produced one of the biggest victories of the season so far.

The heavy defeat leaves Posta with defensive concerns to address ahead of their visit to a KCB side that has started the season unbeaten.

For the bankers, the priority will be to maintain their momentum and turn their promising opening results into a consistent run of victories. Matano will also expect his side to make better use of their scoring opportunities as they pursue an early position among the title contenders.

Posta, meanwhile, must find a way to tighten their defence and improve their attacking output if they are to leave Police Sacco with a positive result. Having conceded six goals in two matches, the visitors cannot afford another defensive collapse against a side that has already shown its ability to score late.

The recent meetings between the two clubs suggest that Friday's contest could be closely fought. KCB won the first league meeting last season 1-0 before Posta Rangers returned the favour with an identical scoreline in the reverse fixture.

Both teams have recorded two victories in their last five meetings, with the other encounter ending in a draw.

KCB will start as favourites on current form, but Posta's need for a response could make the contest a stern test for Matano's men. While the bankers chase the early league summit, the Mailmen will be determined to secure their first points and prevent their difficult start from worsening.
