Description (show more)
The opposition has dismissed President William Ruto’s latest tax-relief promises for Kenyans earning less than 32,333 shillings as a campaign gimmick. Martha Karua, Fred Matiang’i and Ndindi Nyoro, who toured Njoro in Nakuru County, dismissed the pledges as political rhetoric and questioned the government’s track record. As Maryanne Nyambura reports, the opposition leaders say efforts to build a formidable coalition ahead of the 2027 elections are gaining momentum.
