Karicheni residents urge politicians to keep politics out of proposed cement factory project
Description (show more)
Residents of Karicheni in Kieni, Nyeri County, are urging politicians to keep politics out of plans to establish a cement factory in the area, warning that political interference could undermine investment and job creation. The appeal follows a public participation meeting that was temporarily disrupted by verbal clashes between supporters of rival political leaders, limiting discussions on the proposed project. The residents want investors to be allowed to transform idle land into productive industrial space. The Devki Group project is expected to receive further public views next Monday and Tuesday. Kamau Mwangi reports.
