Uhuru embraces ‘sponsor’ tag in light-hearted response to Ruto

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has mocked the ‘sponsor’ tag directed at him by his successor, President William Ruto. Speaking during the burial ceremony of Christine Waruguru Kariuki in Kiharu Constituency, Murang’a County, Kenyatta jokingly accepted the ‘sponsor’ nickname while steering clear of politics. Those who spoke during the ceremony also came to the defence of the retired president, who has faced a barrage of attacks from Kenya Kwanza leaders
