Murang’a county opens up Nyakianga Level Four hospital

The Murang’a County Government is intensifying efforts to bring healthcare services closer to residents, through the upgrading of health facilities and the establishment of fully equipped Level four hospitals across the county. Speaking during the commissioning of Nyakianga Level Four Hospital, Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata reaffirmed the county's commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery through sustained investment in health infrastructure, medical equipment and personnel. The governor highlighted several key projects already underway, noting that Kigumo Hospital has been upgraded into a dialysis centre, equipped with nine dialysis machines, while Muri-ranjas Hospital is being developed into a telemedicine hub. Kandara Hospital is also undergoing expansion to enhance service delivery and increase its capacity to serve residents. Kang’ata further noted that the county has invested in the construction of new health facilities; a move aimed at expanding access to specialised healthcare services and easing pressure on referral hospitals within and outside the county.
