Eight Utumishi Girls Academy minors denied bail in murder case

Eight minors accused of the murder of their fellow students at Utumishi Girls Academy will remain in remand throughout their murder trial. This is after High Court Judge Justice Diana Kavedza denied the minors bail, ruling that their release at this stage could expose them to harm. The court has directed that the eight children be remanded at the Kamae Borstal Institution, a juvenile detention facility located within Kamiti Maximum Prison, pending the hearing and determination of the case.
