Nairobi seeks private investor to expand City Mortuary capacity
Description (show more)
Nairobi County is seeking a private investor to finance and operate a new funeral home at City Mortuary, in a move that could see one of the capital’s main public mortuaries run as a commercial venture. The proposed development is expected to increase the facility’s capacity to more than five times its current level. The plan comes amid persistent overcrowding at the mortuary, with hundreds of unclaimed bodies adding to the pressure on its limited facilities. Here now is Jasmine Wambui with that report.
