Murkomen hits at critics after athletics championships win

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has lashed out at critics using doping allegations to question Kenya’s hosting of the 2029 World Athletics Championships. Speaking in Eldoret Town during a meeting with stakeholders and the Mashujaa Day planning committee drawn from Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet, and Uasin Gishu counties, Murkomen regretted the comments made by critics, saying they taint the image of the country. Murkomen also reiterated the government's commitment to dealing with perpetrators of gender-based violence targeting athletes in the country. The Mashujaa Day celebrations will be co-hosted by Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet and Uasin Gishu counties.
