NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 3 — Italian coffee brand Café Barbera has opened its first outlet in Kenya at the Altura Building in Nairobi’s Upper Hill, making the country its 23rd market globally.

The café is located on the first floor of the building and targets professionals and other customers in the Upper Hill area.

Café Barbera was founded in Southern Italy in 1870 by Domenico Barbera and remains family-owned across five generations. The company operates franchises in 23 countries.

Its coffee is made from seven varieties of beans sourced from different coffee-growing regions. The beans are roasted separately before being blended according to the company’s original recipe.

“The opening of Café Barbera at Altura marks an exciting moment not only for the brand, but also for Nairobi’s evolving lifestyle and hospitality landscape,” said Elio Barbera, Managing Director of Café Barbera.

“We are bringing a piece of Italian coffee culture to Nairobi while creating a space where people can meet, work, dine and enjoy quality moments throughout their day.”
