NCBA Bank has disbursed Ksh. 4.6 billion in asset financing across the Western region in 2026, bolstering businesses and individuals across Nyanza and Western Kenya with the capital needed to acquire vehicles, heavy machinery, equipment, and modern technology.
The announcement coincided with the launch of the 20th Edition of the NCBA Johari Awards in Kisumu. For two decades, the annual awards have recognized dealers, insurance partners, and key industry stakeholders who enable entrepreneurs to secure vital productive assets.
Speaking at the event, Lennox Mugambi, Group Director of Asset Finance and Business Solutions at NCBA, emphasized the critical role of accessible asset financing in driving regional enterprise.
“Asset financing enables businesses to acquire critical equipment while preserving working capital for day-to-day operations and other areas of growth,” said Mugambi. “As we mark 20 years of the NCBA Johari Awards, we are celebrating more than business performance. We are celebrating the partnerships that have enabled entrepreneurs, transporters, farmers, contractors, schools, hospitals, manufacturers, and countless businesses across Kenya to acquire the assets they need to grow.”
NCBA maintained a 30% share of Kenya’s asset finance market in the first half of 2026. Beyond traditional machinery and transport, the bank has seen an uptick in emerging asset classes, particularly electric vehicles (EVs) and solar equipment, as enterprises seek to optimize operational costs and enhance energy efficiency.
“Our partners are often the first to understand a customer’s needs and connect them to the right solution,” Mugambi added. “Together, we are helping businesses expand, supporting livelihoods, and enabling greater productivity. Our continued position as the ‘Home of Asset Finance’ is built on these enduring partnerships.”
The 20th Anniversary NCBA Johari Awards regional circuit will tour four key regions:
- Western Region
- Coast Region
- Mt. Kenya Region
- Nairobi Region
The circuit will honour regional dealers, distributors, insurance brokers, and agents .
