Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and his Treasury counterpart John Mbadi have defended the broad-based government’s development track record, saying all regions of the country were now receiving equal development.

The two cabinet secretaries called for President William Ruto’s re-election next year for continuity in economic prosperity across the country.

They made the remarks over the weekend during the commission of a new healthcare building in Suba South, Homa Bay County.

Duale defended the current administration while taking aim at the opposition.

He accused opposition leaders of pursuing personal interests at the expense of ordinary Kenyans, challenging them to offer alternative transformative policies instead of mere criticism.

Duale also took a swipe at the Linda Mwananchi political formation, claiming its leadership prioritizes selfish ambitions over the electorate.

He accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of sponsoring Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino to malign the government.

“Previous administrations systematically neglected Nyanza, Western, and Northern Kenya, leaving them underdeveloped. The broad-based government is now correcting these historical imbalances by distributing development projects across the country equally,” Duale said.

The CS defended Kenyan Kwanza’s ambitious plans of hiring teachers saying the current administration took over leadership when the country was having a big shortage of teachers.

Duale also claimed previous administrations never took interest in developing the country equally, saying some regions were developed better than others.

“Nyanza and Northeastern were sidelined. There are places that are now getting tarmac roads for the first time,” he said.

Mbadi emphasised the importance of electing ODM candidates to ensure the party secures a commanding majority in the National Assembly and Senate.

He cautioned residents against being misled by politicians fighting the broad-based government.

Health Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga and Nyando MP Jared Okelo echoed the sentiments, calling on Nyanza voters to back the Ruto administration and secure its mandate for a second term.
