Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim has extended a warm invitation to Polish investors, urging them to seize the county’s untapped economic potential and forge partnerships that will elevate it as a premier investment destination in Kenya.
Speaking during a courtesy call by a high-level Polish delegation at the County Government offices on Tuesday, Bii expressed strong optimism about the prospects of collaboration.
“We are ready to open our doors wide to Polish investors. Uasin Gishu offers a strategic location, a robust agricultural base, a growing urban economy and expanding industrial opportunities. Together, we can create mutually beneficial partnerships that drive trade, investment and technology transfer while unlocking new opportunities for our local enterprises,” he remarked.
The delegation was led by Anna Bańkowska, Deputy Marshal of the Westpomeranian Region of Poland and it included representatives from 12 Polish companies as well as officials from the Marshal’s Office.
“This visit is an important bridge between our two regions. We see clear potential for Polish expertise in agricultural machinery, food processing, industrial technology and other sectors to complement Uasin Gishu’s development goals. We look forward to turning these discussions into concrete projects,” Bańkowska noted.
The meeting brought together County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, directors and technical officers from various departments.
The talks focused on investment opportunities in agricultural machinery, fertilizers, cosmetics, food-processing equipment, railway engineering, cybersecurity and industrial technology.
Bii emphasised the county’s readiness to facilitate such partnerships. “Our government is fully committed to creating an enabling environment for investors.
Through innovation, modernised agriculture and industrial growth, we aim to deliver tangible economic benefits, jobs and sustainable development for the people of Uasin Gishu,” he added.
Officials on both sides described the engagement as a significant step towards deepening economic ties between the county and Poland.
The County Government reaffirmed its determination to convert international partnerships into real opportunities that accelerate economic transformation and position Uasin Gishu as a competitive investment hub in the region.
