Learning at Grassland Comprehensive School in Saboti Sub-County is set to improve after the completion of new classrooms aimed at easing congestion and providing a conducive environment for pupils.

The classrooms, funded through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF), were launched on Tuesday by Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi.

Speaking during the launch, Amisi urged learners to take their education seriously and make proper use of the new facilities to boost their academic performance.

He said his office remains committed to improving learning infrastructure across the constituency to ensure children learn in a dignified environment.

“We want our children to have a good environment where they can learn without challenges. I urge the learners to make good use of these classrooms and remain focused on their education,” said Amisi.

The MP further revealed that plans are underway to provide buses to schools in the constituency to ease transportation challenges, adding that bursaries for needy learners are currently being processed.

He assured applicants who followed the required procedures that they will be considered, noting that the programme is meant to ease the financial burden on parents and keep learners in school.

The school headteacher welcomed the project, saying the institution had been grappling with a shortage of learning spaces, which had affected effective learning.

She thanked the NG-CDF for the support, saying the new classrooms will give pupils enough space to study and improve performance.

Community members also lauded the project, saying it will raise education standards in the area and provide learners with better opportunities.

“We thank the NG-CDF for the good work. Our students are going to get quality education, and this will improve learning in our school,” said Hamisi Maloba, a Grade 9 parent.
