The Environment and Land Court nullified the disputed registration of a 2.7-acre playground reserved for three public primary schools in Kiambu.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered approximately 2.7 acres of public land in Kikuyu after the Environment and Land Court at Thika ruled that its registration in the name of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Ruguthi Women’s Guild was illegal and fraudulent.

In a judgment delivered on October 5, 2026, the court declared that the land, registered as Title No. KARAI/KARAI/350, had been reserved as a playground for Kanyiha, Lusigetti and Njumbi Primary Schools in Kiambu County.

The court ruled that the allocation and registration of the property in the Women’s Guild’s name were illegal, null and void, affirming that the land was held in trust for the three public schools.
