The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised 851 job openings across public universities, ministries, and state departments.
In an announcement on September 22, the PSC invited qualified Kenyans to apply for various positions in the public service.
“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below. The details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the Commission’s website,” read part of the announcement.
How PSC Has Distributed Job Vacancies
According to the announcement, four vacancies have been advertised in public universities, including Vice Chancellor at Bomet University, Deputy Vice Chancellor positions at Kenyatta University, and Principal at Murang’a University.
Other positions include promotional and entry-level jobs in Cabinet Affairs, Correctional Services, Co-operatives, Environment and Climate Change, Forestry, Gender, Social Protection, Public Service, Mining, Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Petroleum and the Office of the Attorney General.
The Public Service Commission has advertised a range of promotional positions across ministries and state departments, including senior roles in Cabinet Affairs, Mining, Forestry, Public Service and the Office of the Attorney General.
Under Cabinet Affairs, the Commission is seeking to fill two Secretary, Cabinet Affairs/Special Programmes positions, alongside three Director positions in the same area. There are also four vacancies for Deputy Director, Cabinet Affairs/Special Programmes, and four for Assistant Director, Cabinet Affairs/Special Programmes.
The Correctional Services department has two Assistant Director positions, while the Co-operatives department is seeking one Commissioner for Co-operative Development.
Additionally, the Environment and Climate Change department has three vacancies, comprising one Deputy Director, Multilateral Agreements, one Deputy Director, Climate Change (Information & Knowledge) and one Assistant Director, Climate Change (Mitigation) Green House Gas Inventories.
In Forestry, the Commission has advertised one Secretary, Forest Regulation position, as well as one Director, Forest Management and Conservation position and one Director, Forestry Policy & Strategic Initiatives position.
The Gender department has one vacancy for Director, Gender, while the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs has 146 vacancies for Assistant Director, Social Development.
The State Department for Public Service and Human Capital Development is recruiting one Secretary, Psychological Counselling and Wellness Services and 50 Assistant Directors, Human Resource Management & Development.
Mining has several openings, including 11 Deputy Director/Senior Principal Superintending Geologist positions, 12 Chief Superintending Geologist positions and 17 Chief Superintending Inspector of Mines positions.
The State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs has one vacancy for Director, Government Clearing Services.
At the Office of the Attorney General, the PSC has advertised six Senior Deputy Solicitor General positions and 19 Deputy Solicitor General positions. The office also has 91 vacancies for Chief State Counsel, 257 for Deputy Chief State Counsel, and 145 for Principal State Counsel.

Applicants seeking the positions are required to apply online through the Public Service Commission Online Recruitment website.
Those applying must first register an account using their ID or passport number, surname, email address, and a secure password.
After registration, applicants should verify their accounts through the email sent to them before logging in.
Applicants must then complete their profiles with personal details, academic and professional qualifications, work experience, professional memberships, and referee information.
Once the profile is complete, applicants can browse the advertised vacancies, select their preferred position and review the stated requirements before completing and submitting the online application form.
Applicants must submit their applications by October 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EAT.
The PSC has also cautioned applicants against fraudsters, noting that it does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews, or appointments.
