Bob Omamo, an aspiring Kileleshwa Ward MCA, says Kenya could benefit from an “Obama-Biden model” of leadership ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Kenya Times, Omamo argues that Edwin Sifuna should be considered for the Opposition’s presidential flagbearer position, with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka as his running mate.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden formed a political partnership when Obama, then a U.S. senator, chose Biden as his running mate in the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

Obama was the Democratic presidential candidate, while Biden, a long-serving senator from Delaware, brought extensive experience in national politics and foreign policy. The ticket won the 2008 election and served together from 2009 to 2017, with Biden as vice president.

According to Omamo, Sifuna has what it takes to lead the Opposition into the 2027 presidential contest against the incumbent President Ruto.

He further argues that a Sifuna-Kalonzo ticket could pose a formidable challenge to President Ruto.
