As Kenya’s August 2027 elections near, security agencies are becoming ever more ready to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone, with Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) warning goons and scammers to stop operating alongside law enforcement officers.

Voters are generally exposed to what DCI describes as, “goonism, misinformation and disinformation, various forms of robbery such as phone snatching, motor vehicle theft, and the infamous ‘kazi majuu’ scams,” among others.

DCI says Nairobi region led by the Regional Criminal Investigations Officer (RCIO), Mr. Setim Kandie, CP, will address emerging and persistent security concerns.

While addressing the media in Nairobi, the RCIO assured Nairobi residents of an open-door policy in addressing security concerns.

He encouraged members of the public to continue sharing information on issues affecting their security to facilitate timely and appropriate police action.
