Nairobi Senator and Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) leader Edwin Sifuna has picked The Equitable Party (TEP) for his 2027 presidential bid as single candidate talk dominates opposition politics.

TEP was formerly launched on Sunday, October 4, in Nairobi, with the party leader Gilbert Marava saying restructuring looms to accommodate Sifuna as well as other leaders allied to the Linda Mwananchi movement.

Orengo defends the move saying he once pushed for a single political party under the Linda Mwanainchi Movement, and while its failure was disappointing, his commitment to the cause hasn’t wavered.

“I stand fully dedicated to our ideals and will join opposition leaders nationwide to ensure Ruto becomes a (one term) president next August,” Orengo says.

Similar sentiments have been shared by Babu Owino who says, as a rule of Kenya and multiparty democracy, joining hands is always better.

“We fully support our brother as he begins his journey to become the President of Kenya. All the best, my brother. I will stand with you,” Babu said, confidently.

Sifuna’s popularity gained momentum after he was released by the Orange Democratic Party, where he served as Secretary General.
