The Eastleigh Business District Association said the family was enduring immense emotional distress, with Ismail's mother reportedly unable to sleep since her son disappeared.

The Eastleigh Business Community has appealed to security agencies and members of the public to help trace businessman Mohamed Ismail, popularly known as China, who has been missing for more than six months.

The appeal follows a visit by Eastleigh Business District Association (EBDA) officials to Mohamed's family, where they met his parents, wife and children to offer support amid the prolonged uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts.

The delegation was led by EBDA Chairman Ahmed Sheikh Abdullahi, popularly known as Yare, and included Vice Chairman Abdi Ismail, Secretary-General Omar Hussein, CEO Mohamed Adan and Hajji Adan Adow.

In a statement, the Association said the family was enduring immense emotional distress, with Ismail's mother reportedly unable to sleep since her son disappeared.

It added that his children were also struggling with his prolonged absence, anxiously awaiting their father's return home.

“We feel their pain as our own. We prayed for them and assured them that they are not alone,” the Association said, while assuring the family of its support and calling on government agencies, security organs and the public to help establish Mohamed's whereabouts.

He was reportedly abducted on April 22, 2026, in Nairobi's Kariokor area.
