NAIROBI, Kenya, Sep 30 – Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has appointed new managing directors and chief executive officers for the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) and the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (Ketraco).
Wandayi named Tom Odhiambo Imbo as MD and CEO of Ketraco and Stephen Kipsang Busieney to the same position at GDC.
Imbo succeeds John Mativo, who served as Ketraco’s MD and CEO for about three years.
Kipkemoi Kibias had been serving as acting MD and CEO since Mativo’s term ended.
Busieney, meanwhile, takes over as GDC’s substantive MD and CEO after serving in an acting capacity for about 11 months.
He has also served as GDC’s General Manager for Finance since 2017.
“The Cabinet Secretary takes this opportunity to congratulate the appointees and looks forward to their leadership in supporting H.E. the President’s ambitious plans for the Energy and Petroleum Sector,” Wandayi said.
The appointments take effect immediately.
